Hey
all! I wanted to say thank you for the great and unique class this summer. It was awesome
to have such a genuine group of people to learn from and share my ideas with. Today’s
class was fantastic and I’m really looking forward to our session on Wednesday.
This short class has been an awesome experience, and I hope to see some of you
next semester. I want to wish all of you the best with your goals and I hope to
possibly hear more stories that you bring to light. Best-Patrick Hart
Oh,
here is a link that I created in the hopes of helping Elaine a bit more. If you
happen to be on FB or some other social media, help me share her story by
posing and sending it to your friends and family. Thanks again!

Patrick, I agree with your sentiments completely! To be honest, I was ambivalent about giving up part of my summer to take a class, but I was really interested in the subject and feared I might not have another chance to take this one. SO glad I signed up--it's been great!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your movie--it was very poignant and well-executed. I loved the glimpse of Elaine that you were able to share with us, and how her story illuminates the larger issue of how seniors like her are being taxed out of their homes, their lives, their memories.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's presentations Wednesday!
Thanks Jennifer!
ReplyDeletePatrick, I just want to say I was truly moved by Elaine's story. No one would ever know that was your first imovie if you hadn't told us! I went out to dinner last night with my husband and we were both brought to tears as I told him about your video and Elaine's life. There was a part where she said something to the effect that it may sound stupid but she feels because her husband spent so much time building and working on that house that she feels him there with her in each and every board. I hope you can tell her that it did not sound stupid at all. It was actually the most moving thing she said. I felt so connected to her as my husband is a combat veteran and he uses our house to keep his mind busy as well. I think someday I will probably look back and miss stepping over boards in the hallway as well. Again, thank you for sharing her story. She truly is a remarkable woman.
ReplyDeletePatrick, the way that you shared Elaine's story is incredible. You did such a great job and the passion that you had to help her is so amazing. I am sharing the link of Facebook! I do have disagree with Jess and Elaine though- I will not miss stepping over boards (or any of my husbands other tools for that matter)! However, the way Elaine spoke of her husband is so loving- they really found their one true love! He story really highlight some of the problems we have in this world and how we can push people right out of their homes, it is sad and there is a need for policy change!
ReplyDeleteThank you again for sharing he amazing story and all the hard work you put into this project.
Patrick,
ReplyDeleteFirst I would like to say how much I enjoyed your presentation and story about Elaine and her struggles that are currently going on in her life and what you are trying to do and help this woman. I enjoyed having you in the class and maybe we will have the pleasure to be in another class in the future. I will spread the word and show the video to as many people as I can. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Patrick
