Emotional Shelter: Video by Salt Institute Student

I wanted to share this video done by a student from the SALT Institute on a few clients who experience homelessness, and how they found support within one another....I am not sure if this video is for public so please do not share on media sites. I was told I can share with the class given the context of our studies.
                                                                                     Thank you...

  1. Thank you for sharing this video. It is always nice to see a shed of light on what may seem to be a hopeless situation. Peer support is a great outlit to create positive outcomes, especially when you are around peers who have either been through or are going through similar situations. This was a well documented video, and awesome that they gave you permission to share! Thanks

  2. Wow. “Making a difference” & “Making more and more family” I love those statements. It reminds me about when I was at work the other night. A woman that I work with brought home her 16 month medallion from an AA meeting. My eyes totally filled up. You see, prior to coming to our program, this woman had spent more than two years living in a tent in the woods. “winter and all” But much like in the video that you shared, this was all she could do and all that she new. I love to see the growth and the light in people when they begin to grow and actually have the resources to do so.
Thanks again for sharing this. Very powerful. -Patrick

  3. Thanks for getting permission to share this with us! I agree with what Natalie said regarding how important support groups can be for sharing experiences and struggles, but also hope and resiliency.
